The Co-operation Fund Foundation as an Intermediary of the Fund for Non-Governmental Organisations announces the first round of the call for proposals for the focus area "Democracy and civil society".

In the present round the applications shall be submitted for the following types of projects:

  • MICRO projects - for the institutional development of organisations commencing their activity (i.e. which have been entered into the National Court Registry or another relevant registry not earlier than 12 months before the issue date of the call for proposals within a given round of the Fund for Non-Governmental Organisations), including advancement of qualifications of employees and investments in the infrastructure.
    Maximum grant amount - up to 90% of total project costs, i.e.from 5,000 EUR to 15,000 EUR.

  • SMALL projects - for the implementation of activities strictly connected with the component's subject areas.
    Maximum grant amount - up to 90% of total project costs, i.e.from 5,000 EUR to 50,000 EUR.

The substantial scope of the applications shall encompass the following priority areas:

The maximum project duration cannot exceed 12 months.
Grant applications shall be submitted by non-governmental organisations with legal personality registered within the territory of the Republic of Poland: foundations, associations, organisations established by churches, faith-based associations, other non-profit organisations with a separate legal status acting for the public benefit, or social partners.

Grant application should be filled in solely on-line (on the website: http://baza.funduszngo.pl/).

The grant application filled out on-line shall be printed out, and delivered together with necessary attachements to the Co-operation Fund Foundation.

Considering a great number of questions (by phone or email) concerning the current call for proposals announced for the component "Democracy and civil society" we inform kindly that we will be available to answer your phone calls from Monday to Friday between 12:00-15:00. Outside these hours the Unit for NGO Fund will answer your questions only if sent by e-mail.

Applications shall be submitted until 4 p.m. on June 8th, 2007 16.00 to the head office of the Co-operation Fund Foundation or sent by registered mail to the following address:

In case of application sent by mail or delivery service the post stamp date or consignment note date will be considered.
To the conversion of the grant amount the exchange rate of the Polish National Bank binding on the issue date of the call for proposals shall be applied.

For the first call for proposals announced on April 24, 2007, the exchange rate amounts to: 1 EUR = 3,7447 PLN
(Euro purchase rate NBP, chart no. 80/C/NBP/2007 from 2007-04-23 binding from 2007-04-24)

The Fund for Non-Governmental Organisations was established within the European Economic Area (EEA) Financial Mechanism and the Norwegian Financial Mechanism. It is intended for the implementation of non-profit enterprises which reduce economic and social disparities within the EEA, to increase the role of civil society in Poland as well as to develop the cooperation between Poland and donor states, i.e. Norway, Liechtenstein and Island.
