June 8th, 2007, was the deadline to submit applications for the 2nd call for proposals under the Fund for Non-Governmental Organisations, priority "Democracy and Civic Society". The current edition concerned only MICRO and SMALL projects category.

Substantive evaluation results
(Evaluation Committee meeting was held on 8th August 2007)
The base for approving projects by Evaluation Committee was:
- opinions of external experts and average mark given,
- Fund for NGOs budget,
- additional criteria, which the Committee members took into consideration, such as: social usefulness as far as the project's theme and origins from regions of low level of social activity are concerned, and estimated durability of results, and in case of SMALL projects - also participation of partners from Donor countries.
The Applicants will be informed about the decisions of Evaluation Committee in writing. Each Applicant will receive opinions of experts who evaluated the particular project. In case of projects that received grants, the date of project implementation commencement (as well as eligibility of expenditure) may start on 1st September 2007 after Fund Operator has signed a contract with the Beneficiary. In special cases, after agreeing the matter with Fund Operator, the eligibility period may start on the day of making a decision on grants, that is 8 August 2007. The date of projects implementation chosen in Edition I of the contest should end no later than 30th November 2008.
We encourage everyone to submit projects for edition II of the contest. Call for proposals on MICRO, SMALL, MEDIUM, and LARGE projects will be announced on 7th September 2007.
